Surviving Genocide: From Refugee Camp to Leadership Camp

Clementine Bihiga is a Rwandan genocide survivor. She was eight years old when she had to flee her home, on foot and without parental guidance in the midst of brutal killings that claimed over 800,000 lives. She shares her experience living in a refugee camp and eventually being admitted to the United States as a refugee.

Bihiga is the author of “Happily Broken: Discovering Happiness Through Pain and Suffering.” She is the founder of Clarette Refugee Fund, a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities to refugees, and the founder of Global Impact Academy, a leadership
